DEUS NATURA HOMO

Noteworthy are the elegant winged putti – angels – placed on the base of the cupboard cusps. The putti support an engraved cartouche, identifying each scientists portrayed above it. Particular attention should be paid to the most intricately carved putto placed in one of the corners which is still subject to study today. The putto holds a cartouche without a name but simply the sibylline phrase “Deus Natura Homo…”.
